Resident Evil Requiem: Molotov Cocktail Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

There are 4 world-spawn Molotov Cocktails in Resident Evil Requiem — pre-made throwables placed in the Care Center, Water Treatment Plant, and ARK — plus an unlimited craftable supply once Grace Ashcroft acquires the recipe.

How to Unlock the Molotov Cocktail Recipe

The Molotov Cocktail recipe is a physical document — not a Blood Specimen analysis result.

Progress through Grace's story until you reach the Care Center Basement. After collecting the Quartz pieces and entering the Basement section, head to the Bunkroom and open the silver briefcase in the middle of the room.

Reading the document permanently unlocks Molotov Cocktail crafting. The recipe requires 1x Empty Bottle + 60x Infected Blood.

What Are Molotovs Best Used For?

Molotov Cocktails create a fire zone on impact that deals sustained damage to any common enemy caught inside it — effective against groups in doorways and corridors where the fire covers choke points.

Their most tactically important use is against The Girl: throwing a Molotov at or near her temporarily scares her away, buying Grace several seconds to reposition, reach a hiding spot, or sprint to the next room.

The flames don't significantly damage The Girl — the scare effect is the real value. They also deter Blister Heads from pressing an attack during the fire duration.

Grace Only: Leon Has Grenades Instead

Molotov Cocktails can only be crafted and used by Grace. Leon has access to Hand Grenades and Stacked Hand Grenades as his throwable options — higher damage but no fire zone.

The two systems are designed to complement different playstyles: Grace's Molotovs are crowd-control and denial tools, while Leon's grenades prioritise burst damage and stagger.

• Care Center — lower level of the Processing area. Access-gated: you must first drain the blood using the Valve in the Processing area before this entry becomes accessible.
• Water Treatment Plant — on the metal table in the main facility area.
• ARK (Sterilization Chamber) — inside the Sterilization Chamber Safe on the counter.
• ARK (Cleanroom) — on a gurney next to a zombie.
